Transforming smallholder agribusiness through improved access to irrigation technologies.

MFT Trading Ltd introduced the innovative Future Pump (SFI & SF2) to smallholder farmers in the Northern Region of Malawi. The Future Pump, which uses solar energy for smallholder irrigation purposes, was sold under flexible payment terms to farmers. Over the course of project implementation, MFT Trading Ltd evolved their business model to directly off-take produced crops , process and retail in local supermarkets.
