Funded by PREO and GIZ, we have built a farm of 45 large greenhouses at the lakeshore and these are managed by 135 women from the communities there.  They are growing high-quality tomatoes and red/yellow/green peppers which are sold to hotels, restaurants and supermarkets.

Water is pumped from Lake Malawi using solar pumps and each greenhouse has a drip system to reduce labour and provide for accurate watering of the plants.  The on-site solar powered Chill Store helps to extend the shelf life of the produce.
